Mandate & Role
Rural Water Supply & Sanitation (RWSS) is the nodal state agency for rural drinking-water projects under the Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department, Government of Odisha.
RWSS plans, implements and supports the operation of piped water-supply systems through Jal Jeevan Mission, BASUDHA, RIDF and complementary programmes.
Gram Panchayats, Village Water & Sanitation Committees, women’s self-help groups and local communities participate in planning, monitoring and sustainable service delivery.
